Seagull Duo Sculpture (1 Hovering and 1 Wings Up) Pellucida 16in Wingspan on Burlwood
The stylized simplicity of these seagulls is inspired by the iconic bird in Richard Bach's best selling book "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." The seagull helped our studio get off to a flying start in 1973. Unchanged after more than 40 years, this classic piece still has strong appeal.
The 'gulls are molded in our proprietary compound of resins, Pellucida, which is similar to but actually more durable than Bisque porcelain.
The wingspan of the birds is about 16 inches. Including the polished burlwood base, the piece is about 16 inches tall. The supporting wires are copper coated steel and will dull rapidly in the atmosphere. They are somewhat flexible so the birds move in a slight breeze.
It is SIGNED and the pair comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY.
PLEASE NOTE: The birds are shipped disassembled. (this saves on shipping costs.) They just need to be inserted onto the wires - no glue is needed; friction will hold them in place and they can be disassembled for future moves.
